When can I arrive and depart?
We ask for guests to arrive no earlier than 16.00 hrs and to depart no later than 12.00 hrs.
Where is Samudrawasa?
We are situated in the small town of Ambalangoda, famed for its mask making, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Travel time is 2hrs 15 min from Katanyaake International Airport and 1 hr 45 min from Colombo. The fort city of Galle is 25 minutes further south.
How about cash – how much will I need, and which currency is used?
Rates at Samudrawasa include just about everything apart from your daily grocery shopping and drinks. Our villa manager is available to shop and cook daily and will run a housekeeping account for you. The local currency is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR), which can be exchanged at the airport on arrival or at local banks.
What about tipping/gratuities?
A daily service charge is included in your rate and divided amongst the villa staff. Additional tips are entirely at your discretion, according to your wish and level of satisfaction.
What clothes should I pack?What’s in my room?
In your room you will find a selection of organic toiletries including shampoo, body wash, body lotion and a natural insect repellent; hairdryer; bathrobes; sarongs; drinking water; and ceiling fans. All beds are protected by mosquito nets. All bedrooms are air conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms.
Can I smoke?
Smoking is not permitted within the villa or communal areas; but you can smoke in the garden. Ashtrays are provided.
